I own and manage a comic book shop. It affords me lots of time to kill during the day while I am waiting for customers to come in. If I’m not reading, twiddling my thumbs, or napping (I’ve been woken by customers with drool on my face, btw), I’m probably watching TV. I love TV. I love it so much, I want to marry it and sleep with it once a month, and ignore it when it wants me to take out the trash.

One of my favorite programs is How I Met your Mother. It’s about a guy named Ted and his buddies living in NY. Ted is the one trying to find his wife and he’s the one thats explaining to his future kids how he met their mom. They just finished up their 3rd season on CBS, and thank wonderful Odin’s beard it was renewed for the fourth. The show does a great job focusing not just on Ted, but his friends, Marshall, Lily, Robin and Barney. People have said that this is just Friends for the new millennium. That may be so, but I was too young to fully appreciate Friends. It was funny (at times), but when Friends first came out I think I was 14. I couldn’t relate.

I can completely relate to Ted. Ted, on the show, just celebrated his 30th birthday as I will soon. He struggles with the ladies (like me), not because he’s inept (he’s not), but because girls are crazy. It’s the first show I can remember that completely seems familiar to me because the show is about me and my goofy friends. I wholeheartedly recommend this show. Get the DVDs, you won’t be sorry!
