Managing Cloud Computing $152.95 Every day, the world is smaller, every day, the world is more connected. From this point, cloud computing comes, a new approach of the software, infrastructure and platform as a service. In this way, our computer becomes in everything we need, in everything we want. But at the same time, this is relative new and exciting, it is undeveloped, untested and unimproved. We still dispose very few tools, systems and infrastructures. Since the rise of cloud computing, HFU has been developing CloudIA (Cloud Infrastructure and Applications), to manage clouds providing the system and the tools. From this beginning, it didnt take a long time when a new challenge appeared, cloud computing was designed by developers and for developers, not for everyone, so here starts our way, how everyone, not only experts, can use the clouds easily, and also how the experts can personalize it, and improve it. This was our origin, and we found a great way to improve the power of the cloud, a GUI able to manage clouds really easy and friendly, through OpenNebula. Now you can use the cloud, you can create the cloud, you can be the cloud. This book will guide you to the new generation of computers. Identity and Access Management in Cloud Computing $156.13 Customers are getting opportunity to login to a cloud to use as much resources as they need paying for only those resources they use. Such a nice service oriented computing is becoming controversial due to the lack of privacy and security issues. On a recent survey conducted by IDC 87.5 participants shows security as a reason for reluctance on the part of enterprise IT to aggressively adopt Cloud Computing. To have a secured Cloud Computing few areas identity and access management, segregation of data, data destruction after service contract ends, reliability, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, integrity of data, privacy, geographic boundary of data, virtual network intrusion detection/prevention (IDS / IPS) have to be resolved. Managing access control and governing within Identity and Access Management (IAM) to meet todays business need in the cloud remains one of the major hurdles for enterprise adoption of cloud services. In this book a prototype of Identity and Access Management (IAM) using Diffie Hellman, Kerberos, RBAC and XML has been developed for helping enterprise IT organizations and cloud provider to improve their service. Adoption of Grid and Cloud Computing Technology $98.77 Advances in grid technology in the past two decades have enabled some organizations to harness enormous computational power on demand. However, the prediction of widespread adoption of the grid technology has not materialized, while increasingly the cloud technology is becoming popular. In this book, the technology acceptance models were successfully tested and used to understand the factors that affect the acceptance or rejection of innovative grids and clouds. Using the online survey engine Survey Monkey, data were collected from individuals (242 respondents) in schools, businesses and government in USA. The multiple regression technique was used to determine the relationship between the intent to adopt grids and these behavioral factors: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude (competition from cloud computing technology) and trust (security). The research established a valuable model to predict acceptance or rejection of grids and clouds. The work sheds some light on the influential technology acceptance factors affecting grid and cloud technology, and should be especially useful to professionals in business, information technology and computer science. Cloud Revolution $70.71 Cloud computing represents an evolution in technology and a revolution in business, for when a fixed asset like a computer becomes variable and on demand, all sorts of agility and new cost structures open up. The Cloud rEvolution report tackles this new world of information technology in a fourvolume series. Laying the Foundation (1) introduces the Cloud rEvolution and explores the core technologies that lay the groundwork for cloud computing. The Art of Abstraction (2) shows how abstraction loosens the IT stack for flexibility and efficiency, eying the ultimate abstraction: the cloud. The Cloud Effect (3) describes the impact the cloud is having on IT and business tactically and strategically. A Workbook for Cloud Computing in the Enterprise (4, downloadable separately) offers guidance for transitioning to the cloud, which is rapidly becoming a question of when and how, not if. Commodity Computing $84.44 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Commodity computing is computing done in commodity computers as opposed to supermicrocomputers or boutique computers. Commodity computers are computer systems manufactured by multiple vendors, incorporating components based on open standards. Such systems are said to be based on commodity components since the standardization process promotes lower costs and less differentiation among vendors products. A governing principle of commodity computing is that its better to have more lower performance, lower cost hardware working in parallel Scalar computing (eg AMD x86 CISC) than it is to have less but more expensive hardware (eg IBM POWER7 RISC). At some point the number of discrete systems in a cluster or cloud will be greater than the MTBF for any hardware platform, no matter how reliable, fault tolerance must be built into the controlling software. Purchases should be optimized on cost per unit of performance, not just absolute performance per CPU at any cost.
